Carl Van Ness currently holds the role of UF Historian and Political Papers Archivist, he has previously served as head of archives and manuscripts, associate chair of the Department of Special and Area Studies Collections, and University Archivist. After working as an archivist at the George A. Smathers Libraries for nearly 40 years, Carl will be retiring this summer.
