Levy County Photo Album, 1910-1919

James S. Haskins Papers, 1920s-2018 (Bulk: 1961-2004) (significantly expanded and newly revised finding aid)
James Haskins (1941-2005) was a prolific author of more than 100 published books, mostly of African American nonfiction and biography for children and adolescent readers, though he is perhaps most known for his books The Cotton Club and Mr. Bojangles, which each served as inspiration for film adaptations. He was also a Professor of English at the University of Florida and maintained a busy schedule of speaking and lecturing engagements. The James S. Haskins Papers includes both professional and personal records from throughout Haskins’s career, which is highlighted in this collection through his essays and speeches, the subject files on Lionel Hampton, the (sometimes still unpublished) works sent to him for help with writing and publishing, and in the treatment of Haskins by others as teacher, mentor, entrepreneur, and friend.

Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering Records, 1960-1962
Collection contains records of the University of Florida Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering. Included are over 1100 photographs of Coastal Engineering projects from various places in Florida, with the envelopes that describe the nature of the project and the location.

Photo album containing photographs of a trip from New York to Florida. Examples include Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Tampa, Orlando, and Washington D.C. There are 74 photos, one map of Florida rail lines, and two souvenir prints of Virginia.

Collection contains brochures and pamphlets mostly from the New England Free Press produced in support of the Women’s Movement (Women’s Liberation).

Photo album containing 113 photos depicting Florida landscapes. Examples include St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and Palm Beach.
William E. B. Hayman Sketches, 1884-1887
This collection of personal drawings documents four years that the artist William E.B. Hayman spent in St. Augustine and Deland, Florida. Unknown until this collection appeared, Hayman was one of the artists who worked on the rotunda of the Ponce de León Hotel, now Flagler College. He later bought land and built a house in St. Augustine.

Connie Mack III Political Papers, 1888-2018 (Bulk: 1983-2000) (significantly expanded and newly revised finding aid)
Records from the political career of Connie Mack III, a Florida Republican politician who served three terms in the U.S. House (1983-1988) and two terms in the U.S. Senate (1989-2001) before retiring in 2000. The collection also contains material concerning Mack’s post-Senate activities and family history. Among the many record types, the collection contains correspondence, memoranda, legislative staff files, press releases, speeches, articles, schedules and calendars, trip files, campaign materials, photographs, memorabilia, and audiovisual materials. Major topics include Cancer research and early detection, health care, Everglades restoration, financial modernization, modification of the tax code, public housing reform, Major League Baseball (MLB) expansions to Florida, foreign affairs, immigration, and the Elian Gonzalez controversy.
